Today I have sent the following email to the two gentlemen who have announced their candidacy for the congressional seat for the Northwest Election District; namely, Mr. Robson Romolow (rtromolow@yahoo.com) and Mr. Williander Jack (ukunik@comcast.net). Ai anean pwe repwe anenia ai tingor ngenir fan iten naurh aremahan Northwest.

Dear Mr. Romolow and Mr. Jack,

Thank you both for making yourself available to help the people of the Northwest in the FSM Congress. This is a crucial time in the history of our three regions of Namonweito, Pafeng, and Pattiw as politics has divided the people rather than united us. I believe we have the responsibility to work harder at reunifying the Northwest so that together, our regions will have a stronger voice in the State and our nation. I think one of the ways that we can lead by example is to make sure that we are transparent in our campaign promises and visions, our educational and professional backgrounds, what matters to each of us, our visions for leadership, and our platform. I hereby invite you and any others who may declare their candidacy in the future to the following:

PUBLISH YOUR CAMPAIGN:
In the spirit of transparency, I humbly ask you to fully publish your campaign information for our fellow citizens to read, scrutinize, and provide their input. You can view mine on my website: http://www.raatior.com/political-activism/

Out of respect for you and your campaign, I would like to invite you to email me your campaign information and I will publish them verbatim (no changes made) on my website. You can format it how ever way you want or follow the same format as mine. It’s your decision. Feel free to also send your photo(s) and any other links to other resources that would be helpful for our people. I can promise you that I will treat your information with the great respect that it deserves and share the information with our Northwest community equally so that they can be informed voters.

DEBATE IN CHUUK: I would also like to humbly extend to you the opportunity to debate me in Chuuk on July 4, 2012 possibly at the College of Micronesia – Chuuk Campus. The debate can be recorded unedited and shared on the internet for those of our citizens living overseas. We can discuss further the format of that debate or let an objective third party determine the format. I would like to suggest that we let College of Micronesia – Chuuk campus leadership host the debate and determine the rules and topics as they deem fit for their students and our citizens. If you agree to this then I can contact COM to invite them to host it.

FORUM: I would also like to invite you to join me after the debate in traveling together to all our Northwest islands to present our platform to our people and answer any questions they may have. We can work together in chartering a boat that would take all of us to those islands to mutually present our campaigns and let them decide who would best represent them in Congress. I think this would enable us to rise above the division that has plagued our islands by the old political system. Let us work together to make sure our people understand the proper way of making decisions on their leaders based on the merit of the candidates rather than on their clan affiliations.

Please feel free to contact me via email vid@raatior.com, phone 831-332-0455, or by letter 2713 Subec Lane, Soquel, CA 95073 if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Vid
