Lets-Do-THIS

I lost exactly 4 pounds this week. 254.8. How did I do it? By going against my usual excuses this week: “No Time To…” This week my goal was to carve out MY me time in the early morning when everyone is still asleep at home. For me, this week was about 5 AM waking, 5:30 out the door on a 30-minute walk/run at least 3 days this week. I ended up doing 5 days this week. Small victories.

I had to focus this week on focusing itself and on keeping with the Weight Watchers program of tracking what I eat and my portions. I used my iphone WW apps to track. But to help me in my challenge to focus on focusing, I used the name of my team as my daily mantra: “Let’s Do THIS!” I say it first thing upon waking up, when forcing myself out of bed, putting my workout exercise, setting out on my run, and eating. Everything for me this week was about focusing and tracking. Saying frequently “Let’s Do THIS!” helped me remember my goal of focusing on the difficult task (at least for me) of remaining focused.

What is THIS!?
THIS! is the name of my team on the Biggest Loser Challenge (www.biggestloser.com). It’s my way to encourage others who want to live a healthy lifestyle in 2013 to support each other on their journeys and challenge other teams to a healthy weight-loss competition.

What does THIS! stand for?
T.H.I.S. can stand for whatever you can create in your mind. For me, THIS stands for…Together for Health Inspires our Success.
THIS is… Together, Health, Information, & Support!
THIS is…Talking Health Inspires Stick-to-itiveness!
THIS is…Taking Health In Stride!
THIS is…Togetherness is Healthy, Information is Supportive!

Be sure to share what THIS! stands for you.

Who can join the Let’s Do THIS! Team?
Anyone who is serious about losing weight in a healthy way and who wish to support others on their journey by sharing their strategies.

“Let’s do THIS!” is my mantra, my mental reminder, my verbal cheer to get me to take that extra step. What helps you to remain focused this week? What gets you to not focus on another excuse, but to stay focused on the important goal of living a healthy lifestyle change?
