As a Chuukese I am grateful to Gabe Rossi, Chairman of the Interscholastic Sports Commission (ISC) and the local member schools for their decision to dedicate their annual statewide track and field day to the memory of the late Keitani Graham, our Chuukese Olympian wrestler and youth advocate. On Friday, April 26, 2013, the ISC successfully held the 1st Annual Keitani Graham Interscholastic Track & Field Day on the same grassy field that was practically Keitani’s home in his many drug-free programs in sports with the Chuukese youth. It’s great to know that every year on the last Friday of April, all the public and private high schools in Chuuk State will gather on the same grassy Anderson Field to participate in athletic competitions while remembering our local hero and my former student and friend Keitani Graham. Please visit the Chuuk Sports website (www.chuuk-sports.org) to read Gabe Rossi’s report from the inspiring event and see more photos. >> Read more
